Modern Building Blocks Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting

The last couple of days have been really fun, custom machine quilting this adorable quilt for April! You might remember when I machine quilted the original version of the Modern Building Blocks quilt for Moda Fabrics a year or so ago, I had so much fun with that quilt I've been dying to quilt another one. Machine quilting on solid fabrics is so much fun.

April made this quilt, it's a gift for her soon-to-be daughter-in-law! How awesome is that!! She wants the quilt to be loved, so she asked me to custom machine quilt it, but not so dense that it would be stiff.
So, I got to work, just me, my machine and a ruler. I am in love with the final result. I hope it's loved for years to come. :)
And, here's a little photo over-load! :)

  1. WOW, what a gorgeous work of art!!

  2. IT'S AMAZING!!! So great work!!!! I love these bright colours so much!

  3. Very pretty! May I ask what color thread you chose? It seems to blend in to both the light and dark colors in this quilt!

    1. It's So Fine! #402, but Superior Threads, my very most favorite color ever! :)

  4. Hi Natalia, The person who did my machine quilting is retiring. I will definitely be in touch! Thanks, Susan

  5. The quilt and your quilting is beautiful! This kit resides on my shelf, a very pretty box to be sure!

  6. This is just stunning! I really like the straight-line (ruler) quilting with the solid colors. It really makes all the blocks just pop off the quilt.

  7. It is really gorgeous and I think the use of all the ruler work was just perfect.

  9. IT is beautiful. I didn't know we could quilt with polyester. I thought it was to be cotton all the way through. Is that just another thread company saying this? Because I have thought about buying this color several times. Thank you
