Downtown Cabins -- Cabin Fever: 20 Modern Log Cabin Quilts

Happy Friday everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! If not, I've got an adorable quilt that will brighten your day. :)

This quilt is Downtown Cabins and it's one of our new patterns from our new book; Cabin Fever: 20 Modern Log Cabin Quilts. I LOVE so many of the quilts from our new book, but I really do love how bright and cheery this quilt is. It just makes me smile.

The pattern for Downtown Cabins is written with directions for three sizes; Baby, Throw and Coverlet. We've used the bright solid colored fabrics but I can't wait to see what colors you all are going to make this in.

Another reason why I really, really love this quilt, the pillows. Instead of wasting any fabric with this quilt Kathleen and I came up with some adorable pillow patterns (which are included in the book) to use up every scrap from the quilt, or, if you don't want to make pillows you can easily piece the scraps into your quilt backing.

"Grab a few of your favorite solid colors, cut your strips, and begin sewing! This quilt is made from large pieces, so it sews together quickly. Great quilt for a beginner. To really spice this quilt up, you could mix in some of your favorite prints."

  1. The traditional log cabin was my very first quilt I made. I love this modern log cabin!! Loving the solids!
