Children's Hooded Towel ~ A free tutorial

At our home hooded the hooded towel is a must! So I thought I'd share with you how simple they are to make!

Materials needed:
1 bath towel
1 hand towel

Cutting:
Fold your hand towel in half and cut it so that it's 12" long, leave the fold.

Now trim the top corners, to the fold as shown in the image below.

If you'd like to make your towel have ears cut four 4" ears.

Stitch two pieces of ears together, turn right side out.
Stitch a pleat in the bottom of the ear.

Sew along the angle and then down the strait sides of the hand towel, if you are adding ears in you will insert them at this time.

Lay your bath towel out and find the center. Sew the hood to the top center of the towel.

I choose to add a little bit of embroidery applique to my towel.

My little girl is obsessed with everything princess right now so I added a little crown and a wand to the blue towel.

Wash, use and enjoy!

Fabrics on the monkey towel are Kona Solids by Robert Kauffman fabrics.
Fabrics on the princess towel are Amelia by Me & My Sister, for Moda Fabrics.
