We love pillows!
They are simple to make, and add so much to any room.
Today Kathleen has created a darling tutorial for Simple Chevron Pillows.
Materials needed for 1 pillow:
2 - 20" x 20" squares of your favorite fabric
1- 18" down pillow form (if you'd rather make your own pillow forms we have a free tutorial here)
From your fabric, cut 2 - 20"x 20" squares.
Lay your 2 - 20" squares together, right sides together.
Sew around 3 1/2 sides of the pillow, 1 1/4" in from the outside of the pillow, this is important that you create a seam allowance that large.
Also, make sure to leave an opening on one side of the pillow where you will later insert pillow form.
After you have sewn around the pillow you will trim the corners, like shown in the picture above. Trimming them on an angle will help to create nice pointed corners when turning the fabrics right side out.
Use the hole that you left unsewn and turn the pillow right sides out.
Top stitch around 3 of the sides of the pillow, leaving about a 1/2" seam allowance.
Insert pillow form and then top stitch along the 4th side, sewing the bottom of the pillow closed.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
So Simple & Chic! Thanks Kathleen :0)
