No Bind Receiving Blanket ~ how to

I'm starting to think that someone we know has a baby every.single.week. It's okay though, we love to have an excuse to make baby gifts. :)
These gifts are for a new baby Bronson, we thought it would be fun to make some No-Bind receiving  blankets with a little embroidery applique.
We made two different blankets using Emily Herrick of Crazy Old Ladies, Technicolor fabric, I LOVE this fabric.
Then we used our Mod Alphabet embroidery appliques for the initials and also the monogram B. I love this alphabet. You can purchase and download the alphabet here.
We've also got a how-to embroidery applique tutorial here.
Or, if you need the tutorial on how to make a no-bind receiving blanket, you can get that here.

All of our embroidery applique is done on a Bernina Aurora 440QE with the embroidery module.

  1. Oh finally my comment went through. I wanted to thank you for this tutorial. I made a pinwheel baby quilt and backed it with chenille, love the way it came out. Thanks again Natalia!! Oh funny it was woodland bloom too.

  2. Sometimes it seems that way, doesn't it? No new babies coming in my life right now, whew!, but will save this for future reference. When I get to TX and am sewing for Operation Homefront, I just might make up a few dozen, as they seem so quick and easy.
