Most of you know or have figured out that I have a really talented mother. She has a great eye for color and design.
She is very talented, but like me, a little shy. So she may be embarrassed when she reads that I am blogging all about her today. :)
All of my life she has been involved in decorating and designing. I remember being a small child and playing in our basement while my mom would paint, sew and create. When I was a little older I remember spending countless hours and my moms custom home decor shop. She had an amazing little shop and decorated more homes than I can even count. I also remember staying up with her night long on more than one decorating occasion. She decorated and won awards for decorating in more than one Parade of Homes house.
When I came up with the crazy idea to purchase a long arm quilting machine my mom was more than supportive. She has always been. Whenever I am stumped on how to do anything she is the go-to.
Last summer when she entered the McCalls Quilt Design Star contest she really didn't expect much. As you know she did go on to win that contest. This was huge for my once shy mother. The confidence that the contest built in her was incredible. Thanks to all of you that supported her and are making her dreams come true.
Since the contest I've been telling her that she needs to start blogging as a way to connect with all of her new and old friends. She however, does work full time and just doesn't have time right now. So, we are joining forces. I am super excited about this. She is going to start selling her patterns and blogging along with me! We are going to be more of a team here at Piece N Quilt. I am more than excited about this!
As part of this new journey her patterns Merry Sunshine, Bed of Tulips and Daisies and Lattice (and a few new ones) are under way and will soon be available for purchase!
I thought it would also be fun to share a few facts about her.
She was raised in Idaho
She has 1 brother and 2 sisters
She has been married for almost 33 years
She has 5 adorable children :)
She loves water skiing, sewing, camping and working in her yard
She never watches TV or movies
