Home Made Tacos {a free recipe}

Tacos are always another "go-to" food in our home. They are pretty simple and I can usually get my husband to help making the total prep time about 10-15 minutes.

Ingredients needed:
1 packet Mild Taco Seasoning
1 package Mexican Blend Cheese
1 lb ground Hamburger
1 Tomato
Flour Tortillas
First, brown the hamburger.
After hamburger is browned put it into a strainer and rinse any grease/fat away.
Return the hamburger to the frying pan and sprinkle 1/2 package of Taco Seasoning over meat. Leave in pan to warm until all other ingredients are ready to be served.
While the hamburger is browning chop up some lettuce.
Chop up the tomato.
Put the grated cheese into a bowl.
Now you're ready to serve.
Warm tortillas in the microwave. We prefer to warm them one at a time for 10-15 seconds.
First place ground beef.
Sprinkle cheese over ground beef.
Next, add lettuce.
Add tomatoes as desired.
Top with Ketchup and Ranch.
My husband will generally add a little bit of hot sauce to his.
We like to eat our tacos with chips and salsa. Mango salsa is a favorite of mine. I generally like to buy the salsa from Costco, but Erin posted a recipe for mango salsa this week that I am definitely going to be trying out.

Hope you're having a fabulous day! I'll be hanging out with my long arm machine most of the day and then off to quilt guild tonight!

  1. Ketchup and Ranch on tacos! You are not from California, my dear. It has to be salsa.....anything from mild to hot.

  2. We had tacos last night! Now for the leftovers, creamy flautas, oh so good!

  3. We are having TACO SALAD tonight ; same thing , no shells and lots of lettuce (It's how I get my husband to eat greens ! ) !! we have it at least once a week ; he loves it ! No ketchup ; he uses salsa ; I use dried cranberries and sunflower kernels ; and oh yeah - RED PEPPER chopped up !

  4. We had tacos last night,I like a little catalina on mine.... Homemade pasta tonight!! And yes I am having a fabulous day.

  5. We make our own since i have food allergies.
I have to do it all from scratch though, but i can use taco shells.

  6. oh yummy!! we always make our own tacos with the flour tortilla... use your own choice of oil, put a good layer in a skillet... let the oil heat to med... then you kinda hold the tortilla half up, let one side cook... when its firm, flip and let the other side get firm.. and YUMMY taco shells!!

  7. Ranch and ketchup?! I can't decide if I'm intrigued or totaly grossed out...

  8. I live in Texas. I can't wait to tell my friends about your recipe.

Please come see me if you come to Texas. I'll bring you out for real Mexican food and you'll laugh.

(I must admit - before we moved to Texas, my mom used Prego as the "red" sauce in our tacos.)
