Making Over The Nursery ~ Toy Blocks ~ A Free Tutorial

Toy blocks are super fun, simple and soft and make for some fun nursery decor.

Materials needed:
1-  A Stitch in Color Charm Pack (or any charm pack of your choice)
1 bag batting

We started out by adding a little applique to a few of the blocks. Just wanted to make them have a little more detail, some blocks have letters, some have circles.
Begin by selecting six charm squares for each block.
Now sew four of those together as shown in the image above. Press seams open.
Now you will add two blocks to the sides of the second block. Leave 1/4" at the top and bottom of these blocks unsewn.
Now you will sew up the side of the second block and the top block, as shown in the image above. You will be sewing the block together inside out.
Now sew the left side to the top block, as shown in the image above.
You will repeat this process until you have sewn all the sides of the block together. When you get to the end of each seam make sure to leave 1/4" unsewn to make nice corners.
Leave a small opening in the center of one side. Turn the block right side out through that little hole.
Now stuff your block with batting.
Hand sew with a running stitch the small hole closed.
That's it!
Enjoy!
