How to: Simple Terry Velour Burp Cloth Tutorial

Kathleen had a busy weekend, finishing up some projects and creating this adorable new tutorial. Simple Terry Velour Burp Cloth. We've got another friend having a baby soon so it's time to make a new baby gift.

These burp cloths are super simple and very absorbent. When I had my babies these were one of my very favorite types of burp cloths, next to cloth diaper burp cloths.
To make:
For each burp cloth you will need 1- 10" square of cotton fabric, we chose to use squares from a Layer Cake by Moda Fabrics.
You will also need 1 - 10" square of Terry Velour.
For embroidery you can purchase and download the embroidery files on our website.
Begin by cutting the terry velour and fabric to 10" square.
Next you will embroider the desired wording onto the the bottom left of the smooth side of the terry velour.
All of our embroidery is one on our Bernina Aurora 440QE and all embroidery designs shown in this tutorial are available for purchase here.
Aurifil 40wt embroidery thread is used in this tutorial.

After embroidery is complete.
Lay the terry velour and the 10" cotton square together, right sides together. Sew 1/4" in from the outside, stitch around all four sides leaving a small opening on one side. Use that small hole that you left open and turn the burp cloth right side out.
Top stitch 1/4" in from the outside around the whole burp cloth.
Wash and enjoy!

See, I told you they are super duper simple! :)
