  1. I am so excited to get started on this. I am intrigued by the "no fusible" method. I love the idea that my quilt won't be all stiff at the applique! I'm leaving on Spring Break, but will hop to it when I get home! Thanks for sharing!

  5. I'm a newbie both to quilting and applique, but I'm giving this layout a try as it really stands out to me. I starched all my applique fabric last night, and am hoping to starch the background fabric and trace/cut the templates by the weekend.
Before placing and pinning my pieces, I have a couple of "easy" questions:
    (1) Did you overlap any of your flower pieces (like petal ends under the center circle), or do the pieces all abut?
    (2) I'm planning to use the zig zag stitch, as I figure that will allow the least fraying, and wonder how you define "very tight" zig zag in terms of setting my sewing machine.
Thanks in advance for your help, and also a BIG thank you for creating the applique tutorial and templates.
