Betty made this gorgeous quilt as a gift for her grandson. It's just stunning. When Betty sent it to me she asked me to custom machine quilt it for her. She really loves feathers, and so do I, so I knew this was going to be a fun quilt to machine quilt.
Along the outside of the quilt there is a large negative area, I knew this was an area where I could really add some fun border detail. I decided to use a couple of curved rulers and play around with feathers. I love the border that I was able to create in this negative space.
On each of the blocks I also added feathers in wherever I could. So on each of the triangles I machine quilted a fun feather motif.
