Barbara made this beautiful red and white quilt. She sent it to me for some custom machine quilting. Even though the fabric colors give the quilt a bit of a traditional feel, Barbara wanted the machine quilting to bring a bit more modern feel to this fun quilt.
I decided that it would be fun to mix straight lines with some curved ruler work, really mixing the combination of modern and traditional.
I also really decided to play up the secondary diagonal lines that are created in the quilt with the piecing.
In each of the lighter rows I machine quilted straight lines and small arcs in the smaller half square triangle blocks. Then in the larger triangles I used my favorite curved rulers and quilts a fun curved motif. I really love how it turned out.
