Are you all happy it's Monday? I am! I just finished up a big deadline and am ready to get back to my sewing machine and back to my "normal" routine. YAY!
I'm excited to share this block today, it reminds me of the Confetti block from last week, and I really think it's cool when put together in a quilt.
Today's block is:
Arrowhead Puzzle
Cutting:
(This block will finish at 12"x12" square.)
Pink fabric - 2 - 3 1/2"x3 1/2" squares
White fabric - 4 - 3 1/2"x3 1/2" squares
2 - 3 1/2"x6 1/2" strips
Gray fabric - 6 - 3 1/2"x3 1/2" squares
Sewing:
Sew one white 3 1/2"x6 1/2" strip, one gray and one white 3 1/2"x3 1/2" squares.
Press.
Make two of these units exactly the same.
Sew one white, one gray, one pink and one gray 3 1/2"x3 1/2" square, refer to the illustration above.
Press.
Make two of these units exactly the same.
Sew the four rows together.
Press.
I'm pretty sure that was the quickest block so far.
Now, if you want to make it into a 96"x96" quilt you'll need to make 64 blocks and the following fabrics:
Pink - 1 3/8 yards
White - 5 1/8 yards
Gray - 4 yards
Here's the masculine version. I love seeing the quilts in different color schemes.
For this version I simply rotated every other block, so cool to see the new pattern that it created. :)
Hope you all enjoy! I'll be back tomorrow with another quilt block, click here to see all of the blocks so far.
Wow, that last setting was really unexpected! At least, I didn't see it coming. I really like it. It seems to be an easy way to get a kind of transparency effect. Great block.

The last example is the most interesting for me :-)

I agree, that last layout surprised me :) I really happen to like this block by itself. I can definitely see putting it amongst some modern blocks. I haven't been able to start sewing on any, but I am really looking forward to the time when I can. I have really enjoyed seeing all of them and I will be sad when the 30 days end :(
