Primrose Flower - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

Kathy made this beautiful quilt as a Christmas gift.
The pattern for the quilt is called Primrose Flower and it's published in Fat Quarter Style.

Kathy sent me this fun quilt and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her. I knew immediately that I was going to have some fun with that solid colored background fabric.

Because it's a girly quilt I knew that I wanted to keep a lot of curvature in the quilting, just to keep it all really soft looking.
I stitched in the ditch around all of the piecing, then I quilted an echo 1/4" out the outside of each of the flower segments. I like to stitch an echo, just to add a little pop of dimension.
I machine quilted a feather swirl in the background, I teach this technique in my new book; Next Steps in Machine Quilting, and then some fun petals and spirals in each of the flowers. I really love how this quilt turned out!

Thanks so much Kathy for letting me quilt this quilt for you!
