Machine Quilting Videos

Last time that I posted machine quilting videos Krachel (my sister) told me she didn't believe that I actually was quilting. So I decided to make a couple more videos of some quilting that I did last week.

This first one is a side view, if you were standing at the side of me while quilting this is what you'd see.

This second video is what you would see if you were standing over my right shoulder.

  2. That is amazing. I had to link to this post on my blog. It makes me want to invest in a long arm machine so bad!

  3. That was fun to watch and you did it with one hand, lol. I find getting into and out of spots is the hardest, was wonderful to see it actually being done.

Maybe someday you could do some little videos with quilt patterns.

  4. Totally amazing. Still trying to figure out how i could do this on my regular machine, free hand, drop the feed dogs i guess because there is no way i could buy the quilting machine. I would think your back would hurt. Spectacular.

  5. That's so neat. How long did that quilt take you to quilt? Just curious!

  6. I saw these swrils on some of your quilts and loved it so much I decided to give it a go and I loved it! It isn't near as good as yours but it is coming along :) http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot.com/2010/10/new-free-motion-design.html

  7. Thanks for the Video! That really helps to see how you deal with areas that aren't big enough to do a swirl in. Those were really throwing me for a loop.

  8. It's mesmerizing to watch you quilt!

Can I get Cat Beckstead's contact info from you? My mom hosts and teaches a quilt retreat in Loa every September. My sisters and I help with the food and a little bit of the planning. I'm interested in finding out more about Cat's bingo game/whistles/etc.

    Thanks and love your blog!

  12. Ahh...I love watching FMQ videos, so endlessly fascinating! How do you control the speed? Is there a foot pedal? Or is the machine smart enough to know when to stop and start when you're moving or not?

  19. Wow. You are very talented. I was so surprised to see how fast you go and using only 1 hand too.

  20. This is awesome! One-handed even, I'm impressed. My machine is too big to have much control over it one handed, even with edge-rider wheels (do you have them?). It's a 30 inch head and I can pebble and McTavish one-handed, but that's about it! I just love your quilting!

  30. Do you always quilt one-handed? That just seems so strange to me. I'm glad I found another "young" longarm quilter. They can sometimes be hard to find :)
